The GoPro Supercharger (click here for Amazon pricing) was designed to support the GoPro HERO5 Black and GoPro HERO5 Session  through both its USB Type-C and Type-A ports but the charger can charge other devices as well.

The charger promises to deliver 15 watts (5.1 volts @ 3 amps), 16.5 watts (5.5 volts @ 3 amps), and 20 watts (12 volts @ 1.67 amps) of charging using USB Power Delivery over its USB Type-C port, while its USB Type-A port can charge at 7.65 watts (5.1 volts @ 1.5 amps).

We decided to connect the Samsung Galaxy S8 directly to the USB Type-C port of the GoPro Supercharger using a USB Type-C to Type-C cable to see how they behave over USB Power Delivery. At the same time we also attached the Huawei P10 to the charger's USB Type-A port with a USB Type-C to Type-A cable.

The GoPro Supercharger could be seen offering the Samsung Galaxy S8 with the following USB Power Delivery based charging profiles: 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 16.5 watts (5.5 volts @ 3 amps), and 20 watts (12 volts @ 1.67 amps) when the phone's battery was fully drained.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 responded by requesting 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) from the charger which it accepts.

We could also see that the Samsung Galaxy S8 took around 123 minutes to fully charge when directly connected to the GoPro  Supercharger over USB Type-C, starting from zero charge.

The Samsung phone started off by drawing about 10.5 watts (5 volts @ 2.1 amps) from the GoPro charger. After 73 minutes of charging, the current pulled gradually decreased from 1.9 amps to 0.1 amps at 5 volts as the phone's battery became full.

While the Huawei P10 was being simultaneously charged over the USB Type-A port of the charger, we only saw the Samsung Galaxy S8  pulled at most under 11 watts over USB Type-C throughout the entire power charging cycle. Although the power pulled did not reach 15 watts that was established over the USB Power Delivery negotiations, the Samsung phone was charging at an almost similar power when used with its own charger but with a slightly longer charge time.
