Plugging in the Ventev Wallport pd1300 Wall Charger to the Samsung Galaxy S8, we'll see how well the Samsung phone charges using USB Power Delivery with its battery at 6% full.

The Ventev Wallport pd1300 Wall Charger starts communicating over USB Power Delivery with the Samsung Galaxy S8 by advertising its source capabilities of 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps), 45 watts (15 volts @ 3 amps), and 45 watts (20 volts @ 2.25 amps). The Samsung Galaxy S8 then requests 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) from the charger which it accepts.

While on a 6% charged battery, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is observed to pull around 11 watts (5 volts @ 2.2 amps) from the charger after the first 10 seconds.

It's good to see that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is able to charge properly using an alternative charger like the Ventev Wallport pd1300 Wall Charger  over USB Power Delivery.
