The StarTech 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Cable (1 m) supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 speeds to offer up to 10 Gb/s data transfer for the Mac or certain Windows PC's as well as USB Type-C phones, tablets or storage drives. The 1 m / 3 ft USB-C male to male cable should also be able to use USB Power Delivery for pass through charging.

Using the GRL DI20 cable tester to test the insertion loss through the StarTech 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Cable (1 m), we can see minor violations of the USB specification limits. The StarTech 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Cable (1 m) however has much better overall signal integrity performance when compared to the Hama USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C Cable (1 m) even though they are the same length. The Hama USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C Cable (1 m) has a lot more energy loss at higher frequencies compared to the StarTech 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Cable (1 m)- this means there is less chance of USB compatibility issues especially for higher speed USB link rates like 10 Gb/s.
