After finding a lot of DisplayPort compatibility problems between the Samsung Galaxy S8 and one Plugable dock model in this review, a Dell dock in this review, and an LG display in this review, we were starting to lose faith in getting DisplayPort 1.2 to work with a third party dock or monitor.

Much to our delight, we finally hit jackpot with the Plugable USB-C Docking Station with Power Delivery / Charging (Model UD-CA1).

After we connected the Samsung Galaxy S8 to the Plugable USB-C Docking Station with Power Delivery / Charging (Model UD-CA1) using a USB 3.1 Type-C to Type-C cable, we then connected the Plugable USB-C Docking Station with Power Delivery / Charging (Model UD-CA1) to the LG B6 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 65" Class using a HDMI cable

After a couple of initial plug ins and plug outs, we were able to get the Samsung Galaxy S8 to display its screen on the LG B6 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 65" Class through the Plugable USB-C Docking Station with Power Delivery / Charging (Model UD-CA1). Subsequent repeatedly removing and reattaching the USB Type-C cable or HDMI cable immediately resulted in video being outputted.

We could also confirm that 4K video was being outputted to the LG B6 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 65" Class.

From the USB Power Delivery transactions, we can see that DisplayPort Alternate Mode is successfully entered into.

We can also see that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is requesting 5 volts @ 3 amps from the Plugable USB-C Docking Station with Power Delivery / Charging (Model UD-CA1), although with the Samsung Galaxy S8 being fully charged, it wasn't drawing much current when the below oscilloscope screenshot was taken.
