The Samsung Galaxy S8 supports DisplayPort over its USB Type-C connector which makes it useful to connect to an external display.
Unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy S8 had problems connecting to the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor using several USB 3.1 capable USB Type-C to Type-C cables
We also had DisplayPort link-up problems if we used Google's USB Type-C to DisplayPort Cable to connect between the USB Type-C port of the Samsung Galaxy S8 to the standard DisplayPort input of the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor.
The only time we were able to get the DisplayPort working between the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor was when we placed a USB Power Delivery protocol analyzer between them. This seemed to clean up whatever suspected electrical related issues that exist between the two devices.
