OPPO Reno Ace Phone Ships with the First 65W Mobile Charger Supporting SuperVOOC 2.0
The OPPO Reno Ace can use its own proprietary Super VOOC flash charging system as well as standard USB Power Delivery 3.0 technology for rapid charging over the Type-C interface. This OPPO's flagship smartphone ships with a 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 AC charger which is also the first mobile charger that supports 65W charging and can fully charge the phone in less than 35 minutes. 65W charging also marks a big increase from other Reno phone chargers such as the 20W OPPO VOOC Flash Charge charger that shipped with the OPPO Reno2 phone.
By supporting USB Power Delivery (PD) 3.0 technology, the OPPO Reno Ace can use an external USB PD 3.0 based charger for rapid battery charging. While the phone's own 65W charger also supports USB PD negotiation, it only provides up to 10 watts (5 volts @ 2 amps) charging so that USB PD is purposely made much slower charging than SuperVOOC.
We purchased and unboxed the OPPO Reno Ace to see how it looks like.
The phone has a 128GB 8GB RAM which is lower than the 256GB 8GB RAM on the OPPO Reno2.
For accessories, the OPPO Reno Ace phone comes with a USB Type-A to Type-C cable, AC adapter, SIM ejector tool and casing.
The OPPO Reno Ace now supports NFC and runs on a faster and more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, Adreno 640 GPU and Android 10 OS versus the OPPO Reno2. On a similar note, there is not much difference on the camera setup between these two Reno models.
The OPPO Reno Ace still keeps the legacy 3.5mm audio headphone jack rather than using the Type-C connector.
The USB Type-A based AC adapter accessory supports the OPPO SuperVOOC 2.0 charging scheme for up to 65 watts (10 volts @ 6.5 amps) output which needs to be connected to the phone using the supplied USB Type-A to Type-C cable for fastest charging.
The OPPO 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 AC Charger also supports USB PD over Type-C based charging for the phone but only up to 10 watts (5 volts @ 2 amps).
