Be Wary of Qualcomm Quick Charge 4 Branding of the SZXSDY 30W USB-C Wall Charger
The SZXSDY 30W USB-C Wall Charger by Shenzhen Sunshine Technological not only supports USB Power Delivery based charging but also Qualcomm Quick Charge technology to charge Qualcomm Quick Charge enabled phones. Offering up to 30 watts output, the SZXSDY charger provides USB Power Delivery charging from its USB Type-C port for charging your latest iPhone like the Apple iPhone XS Max or Android phones such as Google's Pixel 3 XL and the Samsung Galaxy S10 Series fast at 9-12 volts or power your tablets like Apple's 11-inch iPad Pro (2018) at 15-20 volts. The charger also enables Qualcomm Quick Charge charging for Qualcomm Quick Charge enabled phones such as LG, Xiaomi and the Samsung Galaxy S9+ phones.
Despite claiming support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4 (QC4) technology on its Amazon product page, the Quick Charge logo and power advertisement on the SZXSDY 30W USB-C Wall Charger's box and casing look suspicious given there's no proper QC4 logo being used and also the charger supports Augmented Power Delivery Objects (APDO's) which are not listed on the casing. Note the QC4 technology enables charging using USB Power Delivery 3.0 based Programmable Power Supply (PPS) and APDO's as well as Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 standards.
From our own testing we can see that the SZXSDY 30W USB-C Wall Charger does support USB Power Delivery 3.0 using fixed PDO's of 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps), 30 watts (12 volts @ 2.5 amps), 30 watts (15 volts @ 2 amps) and 30 watts (20 volts @ 1.5 amps) as well as APDO's of 3.3~11 volts range and 3.3~16 volts range power profiles.
The SZXSDY 30W USB-C Wall Charger is similar to other chargers in the market such as the Nekteck NK-TC-PD30 51W Dual Port USB Type-C PD Wall Charger, Choetech PD51-1C1U 51W Dual Port USB Type-C PD Wall Charger and Capdase Ranger SUPER2P45 QC 3.0 and USB-C PD Wall Charger, all of which support both USB PD and QC standards for rapid charging.
Using the USB Power Delivery Compliance C2 Tester from Granite River Labs to run just a subset of the full USB Power Delivery compliance test suite, some compliance failures were observed for the following tests performed for the SZXSDY 30W USB-C Wall Charger.
