A Nicer Looking Xperia XZ2 with Wireless Charging and 4K HDR Video

The Sony Xperia XZ2 gets added bonus of wireless charging support but no 3.5mm audio headphone port as seen on the Xperia XZ1. While the addition of wireless charging allows the newer Sony phone to join the likes of Apple iPhone XiPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy S8, and Galaxy S9, the Xperia XZ2 supports only 5W through Qi Low Power. This low-power version of the Qi wireless charging standard enables the Xperia XZ2 to wirelessly output only 5 watts of charging whereas the Galaxy S8 or iPhone X can offer faster Qi charging up to 7.5W.

Xperia fans will have to make do with USB Type-C audio headphones with the Xperia XZ2 not keeping the crowd favorite 3.5mm audio headphone port on the Xperia XZ1. Fortunately, the Xperia XZ2 still adopts USB Power Delivery 2.0 for fast battery charging over its USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s) USB Type-C connector. Since both phones run on Qualcomm Snapdragon based processors, with the Xperia XZ2 having a  newer and faster 845 chipset, it's most likely the Xperia XZ2 also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge charging.

One of the nice improvements from the Xperia XZ1 is a better looking Xperia XZ2 that is more curvy while supporting 18:9 full screen format on a larger screen display. Apart from the phone's rear fingerprint scanner which users would appreciate more than on the front, the Xperia XZ2  also has a higher battery capacity of 3180mAh.

Any Sony phone would not be complete without high end cameras and the Xperia XZ2 is no exception. The phone is integrated with a 19MP  primary camera that is more advanced than its predecessor to offer higher quality image capture. The Xperia XZ2 is also an early adopter of  4K HDR video recording in the market as well as supporting full-HD slo-mo recording at a higher 960fps resolution.

While all of these may add bulk to the Xperia XZ2, what it offers at just a slightly higher price than the Xperia XZ1 is a worthy bargain for both Android users and Sony fans.
