The Surprising Place to Get the Cheapest Price for the Moto G5 Plus

After the failure of the Amazon Fire Phone, Amazon has taken a more successful strategy of selling incredibly low priced phones to extend its reach into consumers with physical devices. Amazon has partnered with companies like Lenovo, Blu, and TCL to provide Amazon Prime Exclusive Phones which are heavily subsidized for Amazon Prime members. Amazon pre-installs Amazon Apps as well as display advertising which comes on before you start using the phone.

For those looking to get a great deal on Lenovo's latest Moto G5 Plus, fortunately this phone is part of the Amazon Prime Exclusive program. This means you can purchase this phone from Amazon for only $184.99 which is cheaper than what FlipKart is selling the Moto G5 Plus for in India. It's even cheaper than what Amazon India will soon be selling the Moto G5 for.

The Amazon Pop-Up Store in Westfield Valley Fair Mall, Santa Clara, California still did not carry the Moto G5 Plus so most Amazon Prime users will need to purchase it online. It did carry the Moto G4 Play at an incredibly cheap price of $99.99.

If you want even cheaper Amazon Prime Exclusive Phones, you can purchase the Blu R1 HD for a low price of $49.99 and TCL's Alcatel A30 for $59.99.

Using the USB Power Test App from Granite River Labs with the Granite River Labs USB Power Delivery Compliance C2 Tester,, we ran the following tests for the Moto G5 to observe its power capabilities.

The USB Power Test App first negotiates a power contract emulating the Source to determine the Power Delivery Sink capabilities of the Moto G5. The USB Power Test App then reports out the voltage and current supported by the phone for each of the Source PDO's advertised to the phone.

The USB Power Test App from Granite River Labs also produces a voltage, current trace plot which graphically shows the voltage and current requested by the Moto G5 for each advertised Source PDO throughout the power negotiation.
