Target- Good Deals on Trendy Electronics
I usually don't think of Target as a Mecca for electronics but a recent visit on Christmas Eve changed my mind. Not only did Target have an amazing selection of the latest gadgets, but its display presentations were impressive as well. Sometimes the lighted displays rivaled what you would see from stores like Best Buy.
Here at Target in Dublin, California, you can find many of the latest wearables from Fitbit like the Charge HR. Pebble, moto 360 Android watches, and even CUFF smart jewelry were there. However, newer models from Garmin like the vivofit 2 and vivosmart HR were missing.
Target also had a surprisingly wide range of headphones and wireless speakers out there from Beats like the Powerbeats 2 Wireless. Other brands like Soundfreaq, Braven, JBL, and Altec Lansing all had their mini showcase areas.
Surprisingly, Target even had the latest media players like the Google Chromecast and ASUS Google Nexus Player. Roku media players like the Roku 3 and also streaming enabled Blu-ray players from Samsung, Sony, and LG were also all there.
Many items were sold out like the GoPro Hero4 Silver which had a very aggressive promotion.
I used to think Target had a good phone and console game selection but other electronics carried were generic and lower end. Target has really upped its game daring to sell not just the high volume sellers but also lower volume items used more by early adopters. These early adopters will eventually influence the rest of the market perhaps driving them to Target as well.
Best Buy still dominates electronics retail stores in the US, but Target is an interesting option now for gadget lovers looking for good deals.
