Hama 60W PD AC Charger Offers 50 Watts Using USB Power Delivery Over USB Type-C Along with USB Type-A Charging
The 60W PD AC Charger by Germany based Hama provides each a USB Type-C and a USB Type-A output which can be used to charge phones and notebook PC's separately. The charger's Type-C cable plug supports USB Power Delivery 2.0 technology that offers up to 50W to sufficiently charge USB Type-C notebook PC's and tablets like Apple's MacBook Pro 2018 and 11-inch iPad Pro (2018) or even the MacBook 12" Retina 2017 or the Dell XPS 13 9370 and the Google Pixelbook. You can also plug in the Type-C cable to quickly charge latest phones like the Apple iPhone XS Max or Android phones such as the Google Pixel 3 XL and the Samsung Galaxy S10 Series. The other Type-A port on the charger can be used to supply up to 10W power to charge most phones and various peripherals.
The USB Type-C cable plug of the Hama charger supports many different power profiles- 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps), 45 watts (15 volts @ 3 amps) and 50 watts (20 volts @ 2.5 amps). Here's a closer look at the packaging and charger upon purchase from a MediaMarkt retail store in Germany.
Using the USB Power Delivery Compliance C2 Tester from Granite River Labs to run just a subset of the full USB Power Delivery compliance test suite, some compliance failures were observed for the Hama 60W PD AC Charger.
