SanDisk Makes a USB-C Flash Drive Just for the MacBook
The SanDisk 64GB Dual Drive USB-C Flash Drive was developed by SanDisk just for the Apple MacBook (Early 2015) using the MacBook's only exposed interface port, USB Type-C. It's only sold in the Apple Store and has a metal casing similar to the iPhone/iPad oriented SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive. It comes preformatted for the Mac OS so if you want to use in order devices you should format it to the more universal exFAT.
Hopefully the SanDisk 64GB Dual Drive USB-C Flash Drive is more robust than the SanDisk Dual USB Drive Type-C which seem to die within a month's worth of use. The SanDisk 64GB Dual Drive USB-C Flash Drive, however, should be a much better design given that Apple must have tested and approved it to be sold in the Apple Store.
I purchased the SanDisk 64GB Dual Drive USB-C Flash Drive in the beautiful Apple Store in downtown Portland, Oregon.
SanDisk had two USB drives for Mac products at the Apple Stoer- the SanDisk USB 3.0 Flash Drive with a USB Type-A port and the SanDisk 64GB Dual Drive USB-C Flash Drive with a USB Type-C port.
