The Belkin Miracast Video Adapter is a very portable device that works well with most TV's and phones supporting the Miracast technology. While it's expected that the Belkin adapter won't be supported by non Miracast enabled phones like the LG Google Nexus 5X, we will still demonstrate how to connect both devices here.

The Belkin adapter is designed to fit into any HDMI port on your TV and powered through a USB cable which you can also connect to your TV. Once plugged in, the Belkin adapter is automatically ready to connect.

To connect the LG Google Nexus 5X, go to Settings -> Display -> Cast and select the name of the TV attached to the Belkin adapter. In this example we are using the Samsung K4300 Joy Smart TV.

The LG Google Nexus 5X as expected was unable to find any Miracast-based display.

Note that we could connect devices directly using 'Wi-Fi Direct' but a Miracast connection continued to fail. The LG Google Nexus 5X shows that it is connected, but nothing is displayed on the Samsung K4300 Joy Smart TV. This confirms that screen mirroring cannot be enabled between the two devices using the Belkin Miracast Video Adapter.
