OWC has typically focused on supporting Mac's with their products but we wanted to see if their OWC Type-C Dock could work with the Dell XPS 12 9250 2-in-1 Laptop.  

After connecting the OWC Type-C Dock directly to the Dell XPS 12 9250 2-in-1 Laptop using a USB 3.1 capable Type-C to Type-C cable, we could confirm using Granite River Labs USB Type-C Test Controller and software that a successful USB Power Delivery contract occurred with the OWC Type-C Dock providing 30 watts (20 volts@1.5 amps) to charge the Dell XPS 12 9250 2-in-1 Laptop.

Unfortunately, although charging worked, none of the other functions of the OWC Type-C Dock worked with the Dell XPS 12 9250 2-in-1 Laptop.  No USB devices in the OWC Type-C Dock enumerated correctly on the Dell computer.

Also, despite a Dell 3008WFP monitor connected over HDMI to the OWC Type-C Dock, no external monitor was detected by the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel.

Given USB is a universal standard, it's unfortunate that the OWC Type-C Dock doesn't work with the Dell XPS 12 9250 2-in-1 Laptop.
