The HP Spectre 13.3 is a fantastic sleek ultra portable laptop, but one complain users had was HP blocking non-HP chargers from being able to charge through the USB Type-C ports (click here for Amazon pricing).
Fortunately, HP has released the latest update 6.26 BIOS update available through HP's pre-installed Support Assistance App. This update now unlocks the USB Type-C port to allow for third party chargers like the iVoler 75W USB Type C Charger (click here for Amazon pricing).
In a previous review, we saw problems with the iVoler 75W USB Type C Charger charging the HP Spectre 13.3.
Using software from Granite River Labs, we can confirm that the HP Spectre 13.3 establishes a contract with the iVoler 75W USB Type C Charger to deliver 45 watts (15 volts @ 3 amps).
We can also confirm that the iVoler 75W USB Type C Charger provides 15 volts @ 2.5 amps to successfully charge the HP Spectre 13.3.
Thanks to Joseph Sheu gave us a heads up about this change.
