Moving between smartphones used to be a hassle, but Apple has made it very easy to migrate from an Android phone like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the iPhone 6s.

When starting up the iPhone 6s for the first time, you will need to select language, country/region, and WI-FI network.

Once you are connected to the network, the iPhone will proceed to get activated.  You can then enable location services and setup your Touch ID with your fingerprint.

You'll need to lift your finger up and down on the iPhone button multiple times.

You can create a passcode and by selecting Passcode Options, choose between different code formats to use.

The iPhone provides different options to restore from a Apple based iCloud or iTunes backup, or start up a new iPhone without restoring.  The iPhone also has an option to conveniently allow Android users to migrate their content and Google account to the iPhone.

On the Samsung Galaxy, go to www.apple.com/move-to-ios or search for "move to iOS" on Google Play.  Go ahead and install the Move to iOS  App through Google Play.

Once the Move to iOS has been downloaded, open the App and continue through the initial screens until you see Find Your Code.

Next, enter the code that you see on the iPhone into the Galaxy phone to begin the transfer process.

You will then see the Samung Galaxy join a WI-FI network with a name starting with iOS set up by the iPhone.  On the Galaxy, select what type of items you want to transfer to the iPhone like your Google Account, bookmarks, messages, contacts, calendar, and camera roll.

You'll need to be patient since the entire transfer process over WI-FI could take half an hour.

You can see the transfer progress on both the iPhone and Galaxy phone.

Once the transfer process is complete, you can continue the iPhone setup process including setting your Apple ID and accepting the voluminous Terms and Conditions.

You can also then set up your iPhone with Apple's iCloud and Apple Pay systems.

Next, you can set up your iCloud Keychain to keep your passwords and Apple Pay credit card information updated across your approved Apple devices.

There is also a lengthy setup for Siri where you can train Siri by saying out loud various phrases.

Once Siri has been trained, you also have the option to send diagnostics information to Apple.

Finally, you can customize your Dispay Zoom settings to change the App icon, message, and font sizes.

After this well designed but lengthly setup process, you can finally start using iPhone.  Note you will be asked to input your password for your Google account.

You'll also get asked to install a software update and accept the Terms and Conditions, which will further extend the entire setup time.

The entire migration process from the Galaxy S6 Edge to iPhone 6s was surprisingly smooth.  You should set aside a good hour to transfer everything and set things up.

Given there are a lot more Android phones that Apple phones, the Move to iOS is a great way for Apple to convert more Android users.  For Android users looking to try out the iPhone universe, the Move to iOS App makes the transfer process convenient and painless.
