To use the Google Home with an Android phone like the recent Samsung Galaxy S8, you need to set up the Google Home on the phone by first installing the Google Home App from Google Play.

Open up the Google Home App and accept the Terms & Conditions and Location Permissions. At the same time make sure that the phone is  connected to an existing Wi-Fi network.

The App will proceed to look for devices it can connect to like the Google Home.

You can confirm that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is temporarily connected to the Google Home's Wi-Fi router by swiping down from the top of the screen. The App will also ask you to play a test sound to make sure it links to the correct Home device.

In case you happen to be in a location different from the one supported by your Google Home, you will get a warning that the Home may not work with your existing Wi-Fi network. If you choose to ignore this and continue with the setup, you will then need to select the room the Google Home is going to be in.

After selecting the room, you have to set up the Google Home with your preferred existing Wi-Fi network. The Google Home App automatically uses the password that the Samsung Galaxy S8 has already recorded for this Wi-Fi network so you don't need to manually input it again.

Fortunately we were able to discover the Google Home on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and complete the setup successfully. We could then make use of Google Assistant to provide voice commands to the Google Home. Additionally you can also go to the Discover section of the Google Home App to learn how to use different voice commands with the Google Home.
