The Anker PowerCore+ 26800mAh PD with 27W PD Portable Charger Bundle supports charging in using USB Power Delivery so let's see how it works with one of the first USB Power Delivery chargers in the market, the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W.

The Anker battery is fully drained when we start charging it with the Google charger. Looking at the Granite River Labs GRL-USB-PD-A1 app, initially the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W repetitively declares its source capabilities of 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 36 watts (12 volts @ 3 amps), and 60 watts (20 volts @ 3 amps) over USB Power Delivery.

We can then see the Anker PowerCore+ 26800mAh PD requests 15 watt (5 volts @ 3 amps) from the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W which it accepts.

After a Sink Capability request from the Google charger, the Anker power bank also declares it can support 5 watts (5 volts @ 1 amps) and 9 watts (9 volts @ 1 amps). For some reason, these contradict with Anker claiming to support 5 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) and 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps) USB Power Delivery input charging profiles. Later we also observe Anker initiates a Power Role Swap which gets rejected by the charger.

When we look at the power graphs, we can see that after the initial 15W power contract has been established and Sink Capability request has been made, the Anker PowerCore+ 26800mAh PD is charging at around 14.5 watts (5 volts @ 2.9 amps) from zero charge with the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W.

It’s good to see that the Anker PowerCore+ 26800mAh PD with 27W PD Portable Charger Bundle can enjoy fine charging from other USB Power Delivery enabled chargers like the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W that was launched together with the Google Chromebook Pixel (2015).
