The HooToo HT-UC007 USB-C Network Adapter offers a horizontal dock that uses USB Type-C to easily connect to newer Mac's that have USB Type-C connectors. This allows the Mac to add on HDMI video, Ethernet networking, external USB drives and charging options to its limited connectivity interfaces. The HooToo HT-UC007 USB-C Network Adapter can also get own power supplied when plugged in with the Mac's AC adapter.
Click here to see how we tested the HooToo HT-UC007 USB-C Network Adapter with both the Apple 15" MacBook Pro (2018) and the Apple 87W USB-C Power Adapter for USB Power Delivery charging. The Mac was observed to charge up to about 80 watts with the HooToo HT-UC007 USB-C Network Adapter which is almost full charging when compared to using the original Apple 87W adapter. We also noticed the Hootoo hub advertising lower current while charging the Mac which takes into account the power consumption of the adapter and any downstream devices connected to the adapter.
While the HooToo HT-UC007 USB-C Network Adapter is similar to other Mac supported USB Type-C based docks such as the Henge Docks Stone, CalDigit Type-C Dock and Plugable USB-C Docking Station with Power Delivery / Charging (Model UD-CA1), it should also support certain Windows PC's that enable USB, HDMI, and USB Power Delivery technologies over the USB Type-C connector but you should check with the manufacturer's specs or GTrusted's product pages for that information.

The Hootoo hub's affixed USB-C cable connector is used to connect to the upstream Mac and can provide it up to 80W of power using USB Power Delivery technology. The hub also has three USB 3.1 Gen 1 enabled USB Type-A ports, one USB Type-C charging in port, one Gigabit Ethernet port and one HDMI port supporting 4K video.
The USB Type-A ports can be used to charge downstream devices like a phone or transfer data between USB peripherals when connected.
The USB-C charging in port (downstream) can be connected to AC power or a Mac's AC adapter to supply power to the HooToo HT-UC007 USB-C Network Adapter.
Just in case you need DisplayPort through the HooToo HT-UC007 USB-C Network Adapter which is not included, you will need to use a separate HDMI to DisplayPort adapter.
We further verified using the USB Power Delivery Compliance C2 Tester from Granite River Labs to run just a subset of the full USB Power Delivery compliance test suite to find that the Hootoo hub supports these USB Power Delivery profiles- 10 watts (5 volts @ 2 amps), 31 watts (12 volts @ 2.58 amps) and 55 watts (20 volts @ 2.75 amps). Note some compliance failures were observed.
