Charging the Nexus 6P with Own Charger Fails After One Year

We noticed recently that our Huawei Google Nexus 6P phone wouldn't charge with its own Huawei 15W Nexus 6P USB-C Power Adapter after one year of use.

When sent for repair at TecnoUNO Computer and Mobile Repair, we were told that our Nexus 6P suffered a power failure which could be due to what they claim to be "over-powering" (not sure what that really means). Because of that, not only the USB Type-C charging board and main board flex cable of the phone had to be replaced but also the main board's Qualcomm PMI8994 Power Management IC and Qualcomm SMB1351 Charging IC components.

The entire repair cost us $160 and an additional $20 to get our phone's data transferred to an external thumb drive.
