Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand Uses Wireless Fast Charge 2.0 and Internal Fan For Fastest Charging But Charging Coil Can Fail
The Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand uses Samsung own wireless charging that goes up to 15 watts. The Samsung Galaxy Note10+ series can take advantage of this Samsung's Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 technology through the Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand for > 10W charging. You can also use the Samsung wireless charger with other newer Galaxy models like the Galaxy S10+, S10 5G and Note9. The charger also supports 7.5W wireless charging for some of Apple's Qi enabled products such as the Apple iPhone XS Max, iPhone XS, and iPhone 8.
The Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand is one of the few Qi based chargers including the Google Pixel Stand which supports USB Power Delivery as the power input. Also, the Samsung wireless charger and USB Power Delivery based PPS (Programmable Power Supply) charger use fixed voltages rather than PPS variable voltages even though the chargers support PPS.
After a few months of use, the top coil in the Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand stopped working, meaning you could only use the bottom coil to charge your phone placed horizontally.
Here's a closer look at what's inside the Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand box.
The Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand highlights the Qi logo indicating it may have been Qi certified along with Apple and Samsung wireless charging support on its box. The Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand also comes built in with a fan cooling mechanism while charging.
The Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand comes with a Super Fast Charge power adapter, USB Type-C charging cable and Quick Start Guide.
The Samsung 25W Super Fast Charge adapter supports the following power profiles- fixed Power Delivery Objects (PDO's) of 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) and 24.9 watts (9 volts @ 2.77 amps) as well as Programmable Power Supply (PPS) of 3.3-5.9 volts @ 3 amps and 3.3-11 volts @ 2.25 amps. You will need to connect this power adapter to the Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand in order to keep it charged using the supplied USB Type-C to Type-C cable.
The Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand states it supports input of 24.9 watts (9 volts @ 2.77 amps) for own power supply.
Note you can't place the phone horizontally on the Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand when it is normally placed standing up.
Using the USB Power Delivery Compliance C2 Tester from Granite River Labs to run just a subset of the full USB Power Delivery compliance test suite, we can see that the Samsung 15W Wireless Charger Stand supports fixed PDO's of 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) and 24.9 watts (9 volts @ 2.77 amps) for charging in. Compliance failures were also observed for this Samsung wireless charger.
