NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080- First NVIDIA Graphics Card with USB Type-C/Power Delivery/DisplayPort Alt Mode and VirtualLink Support

Previous NVIDIA's Pascal GPU has been taken over by the Turing GPU architecture as one of the newest and most powerful graphics cards released and currently used by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080. Since DisplayPort 1.4 was first featured on the NVIDIA Titan X, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 also followed suit to support 8.1 Gb/s per lane as well as Display Stream Compression 1.2 to support 8K (7680×4320) at 60 hz with 12-bit HDR, or 4K (3840×2160) at 144 hz with 12-bit HDR. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 also comes with a HDMI 2.0 connector in addition to DisplayPort 1.4.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 now supports the USB Type-C interface with VirtualLink which makes it the first NVIDIA graphics card released in the market with these capabilities. The USB Type-C connector enables fast charging using USB Power Delivery technology along with video output through DisplayPort Alternate Mode. It also supports the VirtualLink mode for virtual reality headset connections over a single USB Type-C cable and connector. The VirtualLink mode can use six high-speed lanes through USB-C which at 4 lanes provides DisplayPort HBR3 video and 2 lanes supporting USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 GB/s) speeds.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 is shipped with only a conventional DisplayPort-to-DVI cable adapter and user documentation.

The interfaces on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 consist of one USB Type-C port, three DisplayPort 1.4 connectors, and one HDMI 2.0 port. The graphics card gets own power supplied through a 6-pin to 8-pin power connector and can be installed on a supported motherboard or chassis with PCIe 3.0 or below.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 has two cooling fans closely resembling those on the EVGA GeForce GTX 960

You can get up to 8K high quality content to play and enjoy on a supported Windows PC or TV using the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 that also offers 14 Gb/s memory speeds on 8 GB GDDR6 platform.
