ZTE's Nubia Z17 Giving Charging Error When Used with the Huawei SuperCharge Charger
The Huawei SuperCharge charger was launched to support the Huawei Mate 9 and Huawei P10 but let's see how well it works with ZTE's Nubia Z17 which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge technology. Huawei SuperCharge technology can supply up to 22.5 watts (4.5 volts @ 5 amps or 5 volts @ 4.5 amps) while we have seen that the Nubia Z17 can charge up to 17 watts (5.9 volts @ 2.9 amps) with its own Qualcomm Quick Charge charger in this review.
However when we plug in the Huawei SuperCharge to the Nubia Z17 using a USB Type-C to Type-A cable, we see that the Nubia Z17 fills its entire screen to report a charging error, perhaps as a result of trying to pull too much current from the Huawei SuperCharge.
We can also see that no matter the situation, usually within half a minute, the Nubia Z17 is unable to pull current from the Huawei SuperCharge. The warning message seen above doesn't always happen but we haven't been able to see the Huawei SuperCharge charge the Nubia Z17.
