j5create JUCX03 USB 3.1 Type-C to Type-C Cable- The Only C to C Cable I Found at Best Buy (Don’t Buy!)

Stopping by this Best Buy to hunt for USB Type-C cables, I was pleasantly surprised to see there was an entire section called 'Power & Adapters, USB Type C AC Adapters, Docks & Hubs' which was stocked with various USB Type-C accessories.

In terms of USB Type-C to USB Type-C cables though, Best Buy only offered the j5create JUCX03 USB 3.1 Type-C to Type-C Cable.

After purchasing the j5create JUCX03 USB 3.1 Type-C to Type-C Cable, I found odd discrepancies between what was printed on the box and what is claimed on j5create's Internet site.

The box claims that the j5create JUCX03 USB 3.1 Type-C to Type-C Cable supports USB 3.1 5 Gb/s.

However on the j5create website, j5create claims that the JUCX03 USB 3.1 Type-C to Type-C Cable supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s) and is electronically marked.  Could this be that packaging didn't get updated on time or is Best Buy selling a non e-marked product that only supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s)?

After finding that Best Buy is selling different versions of this cables and discovering problems with this cable which were not found with other USB-IF certified cables, we think it's too risky to purchase the JUCX03 USB 3.1 Type-C to Type-C Cable and don't recommend buying it.
