A Quick Look Inside Yamada Denki’s Akihabara LABI (May 2016)

On a recent trip in Tokyo, I stopped by Yamada Denki's LABI flagship store in Akibahara located right outside the Akibahara train station.

I-O Data showed off their new USB Type-C drives HDPX-UTC (HDD) and DVRP-UT8C (DVD).

There were also quite a lot of Apple iPhone/iPad Lightning interface based mobile drives from Lexar, Logitec, PQI, I-O Data, Buffalo, and SanDisk.

There was also a wide range of Sony audio products including USB based digital voice recorders, wireless noise cancelling headphones, and Walkman digital music players pushing High Resolution Audio.

Although this LABI store was conveniently located next to the train station, there wasn't a lot of shelf space on each floor meaning selection was quite limited except for the most popular products.  With a lot of going up and down floors by narrow staircases and elevators, this was definitely an old-school Akihabara urban electronics shopping experience.
