Plugable Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station with 85W Charging- Dual 40 Gb/s Links, Video Output and USB Power Delivery Charging

The Plugable Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station with 85W Charging supports Thunderbolt 3 (40 Gb/s), USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s), DisplayPort 1.3, and USB Power Delivery 3.0 when plugged in to a Thunderbolt 3 based Mac or Windows PC while linking up multiple devices, drives, displays and networking peripherals.

The Plugable Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station with 85W Charging provides one USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s) based USB Type-C port, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s) based USB Type-A ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and 3.5mm input and output ports. There are two Thunderbolt 3 ports, one of which connects to the Thunderbolt 3 host computer and is able to supply up to 85 watts to keep the computer charged using USB Power Delivery technology. You can connect a Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen 2 based USB Type-C peripheral, as well as USB Type-C to HDMI or VGA adapter to the other Thunderbolt 3 port. There is also a standard DisplayPort++ connector to directly attach 4K@60Hz DisplayPort monitors without the use of adapters.

Thunderbolt 3 also allows connecting to a 5K@60Hz display or two 4K@60Hz displays using DisplayPort Alternate Mode from the dock.

We purchased the Plugable Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station with 85W Charging to have a closer look at what's inside the packaging.

There's never short of technical information on the product's interfaces on Plugable's box, as always.

The Plugable Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station with 85W Charging comes with a .8 meter Thunderbolt 3 cable, AC power adapter and cord, DisplayPort to HDMI passive adapter and documentation.

The DC power inlet on the dock is used to connect to the supplied AC adapter for the dock's own power supply up to 170W.

The Thunderbolt 3 cable accessory should be used to connect between the dock's upstream Thunderbolt 3 port and host computer for charging.

The dock is able to support connection to a HDMI display through a Dual Mode DisplayPort (DP++) to HDMI conversion using the supplied Plugable DisplayPort to HDMI Passive Adapter accessory, allowing a max resolution of 4K@30Hz.

The front of the Plugable Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station with 85W Charging provides a single USB Type-C port and USB Type-A port, both supporting USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s) for easy access.

The rest of the interfaces can be found at the back of the Plugable Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station with 85W Charging.
