The LG 27-inch Class 4K UHD IPS LED HDR 27UL550-W Monitor Makes DisplayPort 1.4 Affordable
With the newer display interfaces now supporting USB Type-C, LG still offers legacy displays such as the 27-inch Class 4K UHD IPS LED HDR 27UL550-W Monitor which supports DisplayPort 1.4. DisplayPort 1.4 allows the LG monitor to take advantage of HBR3 data signaling rates to provide higher resolution video with higher refresh rates to offer 4k@60hz resolutions over the standard DisplayPort interface. This monitor can be especially useful for connecting to older PC's or Mac's like the MacBook Pro (Mid 2015), Apple Mac Pro, and iMac with Retina 5K Display. Since the monitor doesn't have a Type-C connector, you'll need to use a USB Type-C to DisplayPort adapter if you want to use this monitor with a Type-C based computer.
The LG 27-inch Class 4K UHD IPS LED HDR 27UL550-W Monitor supports IPS with 98% of sRGB, HDR10, RADEON FreeSync adaptive sync, HDCP 2.2 and 1.07-bit color depth. Unfortunately it does not have its own speakers as seen with the LG 31-inch Digital Cinema 4K 31MU97 Monitor which means you will need to connect external speakers.
We got to purchase the LG 27-inch Class 4K UHD IPS LED HDR 27UL550-W Monitor at a budget price where we then unpacked and set up the monitor as below.
The monitor comes with a AC power adapter with power cord, CD-ROM, an HDMI cable, a DisplayPort cable, a pivot stand with back mount plate, and instruction sheets.
The supplied AC power adapter supports up to 41W max power when plugged in to the monitor.

The LG monitor also supports split screen just like the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor so you can make use of the 4K resolution and turn the monitor into 4 different displays on the same screen. This is a simple and affordable monitor that can be used with most older computers as well as allowing access to the latest 4K DisplayPort 1.4 sources.
