Feeling the Vibe in India with the Lenovo VIBE P1m
With companies like Huawei and Xiaomi stepping up the competition with Apple and Samsung for the ultra-competitive Chinese market, the handset and PC giant Lenovo has pursued a strategy of acquiring technology and brands through the Motorola Mobility purchase from Google. At the same time, Lenovo has expanded overseas into rapidly growing markets like India where there is weaker local incumbent competition.
The Lenovo Vibe P1m is a mobile phone that is selling well in India's low cost budget category. It crams good features with an excellent battery life, making it one best mobile phones for its price.
I bought the Vibe P1m from Flipkart in Bangalore, India which was delivered within one day without any additional shipping charges.
The phone comes with a 5.0-inch touchscreen display, 2GB RAM and a big 3900 mAh battery. It comes with accessories such as a USB Cable, power charger, audio headset, and back cover.
The Lenovo VIBE P1m comes in just two colors- Black or White. Like the Ford Model T of old, Lenovo is bent on reducing product diversity and just offering the consumer the most features at the lowest price.
One drawback for the Lenovo VIBE P1m is its size. It's a littile bulky because of the big battery & speakers on both the sides. Interestingly enough, the lefthand side speaker works fine but the righthand side speaker is only for show.
The Lenovo VIBE P1m also has dual-SIM and is 4G compatible, which is useful when travellling around India and abroad.
It will be more difficult for local companies like Micromax to withstand the onslought of low cost volume players like Xiaomi and Lenovo flooding the India market, but one thing is for sure. The India consumer will have plenty of great values to choose from, like the Lenovo Vibe P1m.
