HTC Gives You a Squeeze with New USB Type-C HTC U11
From the highly successful HTC 10, now comes the HTC U11 Android phone that has newer features in addition to USB Type-C and Power Delivery. The flagship HTC U11 is built in with HTC's latest Edge Sense technology that sets it apart from other phones. Edge Sense works simply by just squeezing the phone to quickly access the phone's functions and applications. This would be especially useful when taking pictures or giving voice commands over the phone.
In addition to Hi-Res audio that is also supported on the HTC 10, the HTC U11 gets an additional boost to its sound system through HTC's new USonic audio technology. USonic claims to provide active noise cancelation support to give higher quality audio.
The HTC U11 comes with the newer and faster 2.45GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor as compared to the 2.16GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core version in the older HTC 10. The new HTC also has 64GB/128GB ROM that is double the memory of the older HTC.
Like the HTC 10, the HTC U11 supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s), DisplayPort 1.2, as well as Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and USB Power Delivery for fast charging over the USB Type-C connector. Both HTC models also support similar features such as a non-removable 3000mAh Li-Ion battery, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, and sensors.
The HTC U11 is slightly bigger than the HTC 10 to fit its 5.5-inch screen but is thinner by around 1 mm. The HTC U11 is a very attractive phone with a glossy design and we anticipate to seeing how well it works with other chargers over a series of tests.
