Hama 70W USB-C PD Universal Notebook Car Charger Offers Fast 60W Charging with USB Power Delivery in a Double USB Port Car Charger

The Hama 70W USB-C PD Universal Notebook Car Charger is one of the few high output car chargers that offers up to 70 watts charging for your USB Type-C devices inside your car. The charger's USB Type-C output port supports USB Power Delivery 2.0 technology for up to 60W to sufficiently charge USB Type-C notebook PC's and tablets like Apple's MacBook Pro 2018 and 11-inch iPad Pro (2018) or even the MacBook 12" Retina 2017 or the Dell XPS 13 9370 and the HP Spectre x360. You can also plug in and quickly charge latest phones like the Apple iPhone XS Max or Android phones such as the Google Pixel 3 XL and the Samsung Galaxy S10 Series to the charger. The other USB Type-A port on the charger can be used to supply up to 10W power to charge most phones and various peripherals.

We purchased the Hama 70W USB-C PD Universal Notebook Car Charger from a MediaMarkt retail store in Germany which we unpacked to get a closer look at the charger. Since the USB-IF logo is missing on the packaging, it can be hard to tell if the charger has been USB certified.

From inside the packaging you will find a included USB Type-C to Type-C cable with the Hama 70W USB-C PD Universal Notebook Car Charger and documentation.

Through USB Power Delivery over Type-C, the Hama 70W USB-C PD Universal Notebook Car Charger states that it can support 3 amps charging at 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V and 20V voltage rails up to 60 watts over standard Power Data Objects (PDO) protocol negotiation contract.

The charger also has a non USB Power Delivery based USB Type-A port to supply 10 watts (5 volts @ 2 amps) of legacy charging.

Alternatively you can use the Hama 27W QC4+ Car Charger if you want USB Power Delivery 3.0 based PPS and Qualcomm Quick Charge charging for your USB-C phones or tablets up to 27 watts.
