Google Pixel 3a Can't Use Qi But Only USB Power Delivery Type-C for Wired Charging
The Google Pixel 3a is a more affordable version of the flagship Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones which is suitable for those on a budget but wanting to own a Pixel phone. Even though it is missing some features such as Qi wireless charging, eSIM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset carried by the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, the Pixel 3a still supports USB Power Delivery 2.0 charging over Type-C and USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s) speeds as well as using Chromecast as the primary method to cast video from the phone.
The Pixel 3a runs on the lower end Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 chipset and only offers a single 64GB RAM when compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and dual 64GB and 128GB RAM's on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Although there's only one 8MP front camera on the Pixel 3a instead of two on the flagships, the Pixel 3a surprisingly retains the 3.5mm audio port that has since been removed from the Google Pixel 2 XL.
Here's a closer look at the Pixel 3a when it was unpacked after purchase.
The Pixel 3a ships with the same standard Google 18W USB Power Delivery based USB Type-C power adapter, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable and a USB Type-C to 3.5mm audio adapter for its accessories. The phone looks more plastic and not as premium as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.
