Pretty in Pink (Rose Gold)- The New MacBook (Early 2016)
The new Apple MacBook (Early 2016) came out a year after the original Apple MacBook (Early 2015) that was the first Apple product to use the USB Type-C interface and USB Power Delivery technology.
Other than a faster processor and the introduction of Rose Gold color option, the Apple MacBook (Early 2016) also probably keeps up with the latest USB Power Delivery specifications given the Apple MacBook (Early 2015) was released when USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery technology was less mature.
It's important to note that non-Apple third party Type-C peripherals that worked with the Apple MacBook (Early 2015) may need need new firmware updates to work properly with the new Apple MacBook (Early 2016). Contact your peripheral maker if you see any issues so that you can make sure you have the latest firmware installed so that it works with the new MacBook as well.
I purchased the Apple MacBook (Early 2016) at the Apple Store in Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara, California.
The new Apple bag that replaced the previous plastic ones is a lot more environmentally friendly.
The Apple MacBook (Early 2016) box and package is similar to the Apple MacBook (Early 2015).
The Apple MacBook (Early 2016) just comes with the Apple 29W USB-C Power Adapter and Apple USB-C Charge Cable (2m).
Like the Apple MacBook (Early 2015), Apple MacBook (Early 2016) uses a single USB Type-C port to handle all the USB traffic, DisplayPort video, and USB Power Delivery based power charging. The only other port left is a 3.5 mm audio jack.
Apple brought rose gold to the mainstream with the success of its iPhone 6s and the color works well on the Apple MacBook (Early 2016) as well.
Rose gold really contrasts well with black on the Apple MacBook (Early 2016).
We've already seen issues where some USB Type-C accessories under development work fine with the Apple MacBook (Early 2015) but without firmware updates, have interoperability issues with USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort using the new Apple MacBook (Early 2016). We'll report later how these may affect certain USB Type-C products with USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort that have already been released to the market.
