Add USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C Ports to Your PC With the Blackbird MX-1 USB 3.1 Gen 2 PCIe Host Card
The Blackbird MX-1 allows you to add USB Type-C based USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s) capabilities to your Windows desktop PC as long as there is a x4, x8, or x16 PCI Express Gen 2 or Gen 3 slot available. The Blackbird MX-1 also offers a USB 3.1 Gen 2 based Type-A port that can be used at the same time as the USB Type-C port. The Blackbird MX-1 supports two PCI Express Gen 2 lanes when connected to the motherboard over PCI Express.
With the Blackbird MX-1, you can take advantage of new USB 3.1 Gen 2 based storage peripherals such as the Blackbird VX-2SSD and Plugable USB-C SATA Hard Drive Dock. As USB 3.1 Gen 2 and Thunderbolt 3 PC's and Mac's become more popular, you should also see more USB peripherals take advantage of the USB 3.1 Gen 2 speeds.
You'll need to power the Blackbird MX-1 using one of the SATA power connectors in your motherboard so make sure one is available.
Note the Blackbird MX-1 does not support Thunderbolt 3 or USB Power Delivery over the USB Type-C port.
