Apple's 13-in MacBook Air (2019) Now Comes with Thunderbolt 3
The current Apple 13-in MacBook Air (2019) replaces the older Macbook Air which was discontinued and now all Macbook series is using Thunderbolt technology. With Thunderbolt 3, the 13-in MacBook Air (2019) can support Thunderbolt 3 (40 Gb/s), USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s), DisplayPort 1.2, and USB Power Delivery 2.0 technologies. The new Macbook Air also follows the Apple 15" MacBook Pro (2018) to carry a T2 chip, Touch ID fingerprint sensor, Force Touch trackpad and Butterfly keyboard but still retains some features of the older Macbook Air such as Retina display and 8th Gen Intel Amber Lake chipset.
The 13-in MacBook Air (2019) comes with a Apple 30W USB Type-C power adapter and USB Type-C cable for accessories. The 30W charger supports USB Power Delivery over Type-C for fast charging using 30 watts (20 volts @ 1.5 amps), 30 watts (15 volts @ 2 amps), 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps) and 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps) power profiles. Note that this 30W doesn't take into account the additional 15 watts of power that Thunderbolt 3 ports typically must provide.
One side of the 13-in MacBook Air (2019) has two USB Type-C ports next to each other which are Thunderbolt 3 based. You can use one of these ports to plug in the Apple 30W power adapter that came with the Mac for power supply.
There's a lack of connectivity ports on the other side of the Mac except for the lone 3.5 mm audio jack.
The 13-in MacBook Air (2019) uses a updated Butterfly keyboard which it claims to improve typing experience as well as a larger Force Touch trackpad. The trackpad is integrated with Force Sensors technology where instead of using buttons, you can just press on any area of the trackpad to do the same thing.
