Earlier we had reviewed the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick with a Chromebook to check their compatibility. Thus far, we have only seen how well it works with iPhones and Android devices- would the experience be the same a Mac like the Mac Pro

The first thing we must do is connect to the wireless stick's network. This paves the way to enable us to communicate and transfer information between the desktop and SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick.  However, we must sacrifice out internet access in order to do this.  Even if we use an Ethernet connection with the Mac, we can't connect to both the drive and the internet simultaneously, with the Ethernet connection usually overriding the wireless access, thus barring access to the contents of the drive.

After removing the Ethernet cable and just using WI-FI, typing http://sandisk.com/wfd/ into the browser's URL address bar enables us to access the files within the drive.

The usual information and options are provided; battery remaining, space used, total space, and in terms of options, adding files, deleting files, and going to settings.

We ventured into the videos category, and downloaded the mp4 file by right clicking and selecting "Download linked file as..."

With the drive about a meter away from the desktop itself, we had a fairly decent download speed of 866 KB/sec.

Unfortunately we could not find a measurement for the upload speed but empirically we would say that its upload speed was roughly equivalent to that of the download speed.

Wondering how much of an effect distance would have, we walked about 10 feet away from where the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick was before and placed it down. We see a significant slow-down in download speed.

As a product, the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick performs as promised. It wirelessly connects to the computer and allows for the transfer of files between the computer and the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick. However, the inconvenience of disconnecting from the internet and having to use sandisk.com/wfd as a file system is a slight turn off. The range is also not great.  The most useful application for using the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick with the Mac over WI-FI instead of a regular USB flash drive is if you need to quickly share the same drive between different people.
