The Garmin vivofit 2 is a great simple fitness tracker that can be used standalone but works even better with Apple products like the iPhone 6s.

If you are downloading the Garmin App, click here to see how to install the Garmin Connect Mobile App from the Apple Store.

If you are using the Garmin App and the vivofit 2 for the first time, click here to see how to set everything up on the Garmin App.

Suppose you have already set up the Garmin App on your iPhone 6s and associated the vivofit 2 with your Garmin account from another mobile device.  To set up the vivofit 2 on your iPhone 6s, open the Garmin App and select More on the App's bottom menu.  In the More screen, select Garmin Devices.  In the Devices screen, select the vivofit that has already been associated with your Garmin account.

In the vivofit 2 screen, select Add this Device.  In the next screen, you'll need to update your personal information and select Next again.

To start pairing your App with the vivofit 2, hold down the main vivofit 2 button until it cycles through and shows PAIR on the Garmin's display.  Next select Start on the App and once your vivofit 2 has been found, confirm the code shown on the vivofit 2 matches what is shown on the App, and select Yes.

The App will then proceed to connect to the Garmin vivotfit 2.  If your Garmin App has been using another Garmin device, you will see a warning by Garmin that only one Garmin device can be used at a time for activity tracking- select Use vivofit 2.

The pairing process will then complete and select Done to continue.

You'll be brought back to the App's Devices screen.  If you click the question mark in the vivofit 2 section of the screen, a pop up window will expain how to Sync your Garmin.  All you need to do is press and hold the vivofit 2 button until you see Sync appear, and the sync process will then start on the App automatically.

There are many other views available on the Garmin App showing steps, floors, etc.

Compared to the Fitbit App, there is a lot more colorized data available which is great for those really into looking at their data from different angles but more casual users may find it difficult to quickly find the information they are looking for.

Overall, the Garmin vivofit 2 is a great inexpensive fitness tracker that works extremely well different mobile devices including the popular iPhone 6s.  The vivofit 2 is extremely easy to use and when you are ready to start viewing your stats and sharing data and goals with friends, using the Garmin App on the iPhone is a lot of fun as well.
