The Motorola Moto e5 Play comes with only a micro-B connector that doesn't use any quick charging technology but here we want to see how the phone charges using the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 based Xiaomi 18W QC 3.0 Charger.
On a 3% charged battery the Moto e5 Play was plugged in to the Xiaomi 18W QC 3.0 Charger that originally ships with the Xiaomi Mi 8 phone using a USB Type-A to micro-B cable. Once the voltage began at 5.1 volts after taking more than 10 seconds from plugin, the phone then only started off pulling .48 amps current to initially draw around 2.4 watts (5 volts @ .48 amps) from the charger. From there the phone was consistently charging at almost similar power of 2.4 watts over constant voltage and current. Even though the Moto e5 Play can still get charged by the Xiaomi charger, the power delivered is even lower than 5 watts that the phone gets from its own 10W based charger as observed here. Unfortunately Qualcomm Quick Charge doesn't seem to be supported well on the Moto e5 Play.
