German based online retail stores like notebooksbilliger.de and Cyberport have been popular in Germany, providing an alternative to those that don't want to shop at Amazon.
Originally a successful mail order catalog retailer, Otto has also been very successful in the e-commerce world selling a whole range of good similar to Amazon.
Well know bricks and motors retailers like Media Markt and Saturn have been slower at responding to the online retail changes.
You can see a lot of Media Markt advertising around Germany such as the one above at Karlsruhe Train Station. However the strong Media Markt retail and advertising presence hasn't translated well into online sales which continues to take market share from traditional retail in Germany.
You can see Saturn retail kiosks around airports in Germany similar to the BestBuy kiosks in the US. But similar to BestBuy in the US, traditional retail companies in Germany had been struggling with the changing nature of retail.
