The upcoming Nubia Z17 would soon become the first smartphone to support fast charging through the latest Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ over the USB Type-C interface. The Z17 is owned by Nubia, a subsidiary brand by Chinese telecom giant ZTE, that features the new USB Type-C connector supporting USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gb/s) speeds and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+.

Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ is the first Qualcomm Quick Charge technology version that takes advantage of USB Power Delivery technology which means that legacy Quick Charge 3 chargers, new Quick Charge 4 chargers, and USB Power Delivery based chargers can all be used to rapidly charge the Nubia Z17. Qualcomm Quick Charge 4 also provides some advantage over Qualcomm Quick Charge 3 such as up to 20% faster and 5% cooler charging.

The Nubia Z17 comes with a Quick Charge 3 charger but Quick Charge 4 chargers should be available later.

The Nubia Z17 now comes with the newer and faster Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 processor that runs on Android 7.1. The Nubia Z17 has its own custom Nubia UI 5.0 built in and also supports Adreno 540 graphics as well as 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB ROM. The phone however doesn't come with SD card support.

The Nubia Z17 has the feel of a premium phone through its 5.5-inch display that features an edge-to-edge panel at 1080x1920 resolution. It is also built in with a Dolby Atmos speaker to give high quality sound with noise cancelation capability.

Like most camera heavy China based phones, the Nubia Z17 not surprisingly showcases superior cameras on its front and back. There's a 16MP camera on the front while the back has a 12MP and 23MP combo camera. However the highlight would be the amazing ultra high definition video capture at 2160p@30fps which these cameras promise to deliver.

The Nubia Z17 supports a 3250mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery which is non-removable, as well as NFC, Bluetooth 4.1 LE and fast 802.11 b/g/n/ac wireless connectivity.

If you want a premium Android experience, the Nubia Z17 would be a good choice having the latest features you'd expect from a flagship model. We'll be testing the Nubia Z17 with various chargers next.
