Xiaomi released the Redmi Note 3 in India in March 2016. As India becomes one of the fastest growing smartphone markets in the world, Xiaomi has launched two variants of the smartphone 16GB and 32GB.
The Redmi Note 3 enjoys a high-performance Snapdragon 650 processor with ARM's flagship Cortex-A72 cores and an ultra-fast fingerprint sensor. The Redmi Note 3 also has a well designed metal body, and compare to other Redmi phones is also lighter than the Redmi Note Prime. It's powered by a 4050 mAh non-removable battery and comes in three colors- Silver, Gray, and Gold.
The phone also supports interfaces like dual-band WI-FI a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, USB OTG, FM radio, and Miracast.
We bought the gold variant of the Redmi Note 3 from Flipkart in India at a cost of 10799/- INR. Click here to check the price on Amazon India.
The cost of the phone and other details pertaining to the phone were printed on the back side of the box. Unlike a lot of Chinese phones flooding the India market, the Redmi Note 3 is made in India.
Other than the phone, the box contains the USB cable, SIM ejector tool, user manual, and the USB power adapter.
The Redmi Note 3 doesn't support any fast charging technology and just comes with a simple 10 watts (5 volts @ 2 amps) USB charger which is made in China.
Unfortunately, we were disappointed seeing major scratches on the Chinese made adapter. Shipping damage from China?
On the right of the Redmi Note 3, you can see the two Power On/Off, Volume +/- button and on the left you can see hybrid Dual-SIM tray. The Redmi Note 3 has dual SIM support but in the second slot, you can only use either SIM 2 or micro SD card.
On the rear side of Redmi Note 3, you'll find the round fingerprint scanner is located just below the 16MP camera and they are aligned to be placed in the center. The dual LED flash unit is located in between the camera and the fingerprint scanner sensor. Press your finger gently on the sensor and Redmi Note 3 unlocks- this is more convenient and faster to unlock the phone rather than using patterns or passwords. And also when you're using the camera this fingerprint sensor button can be used to capture pictures.
The top edge of the phone has the 3.5mm audio jack and an infrared blaster for controlling IR home appliances. The front of the Redmi Note 3 houses a 5 Megapixel, f/2.0 camera. The phone uses a standard Micro-USB connector for charging and data transfers.
To set up the Redmi Note 3, press the power button on right side of the phone. The opening screen displays 'Welcome' and allows you to choose the language of your choice. Following the language selection, you can join an available WI-FI network and accept the terms and conditions. Below are the setup screens for the Redmi Note 3.
You can also register your fingerprint to unlock your device or set this up later in the settings menu. You can restore apps and data from your old devices.
Once all these steps are followed, you are ready to use the Redmi Note 3.
