The AUKEY CC-Y7 Car Charger not only can charge your USB Type-C devices using USB Power Delivery but also conveniently supports standard USB Type-A based charging while on your commute. To see how well it can work with USB Power Delivery enabled phones like the LG G6, we'll connect the charger to the phone over the USB Type-C connector.

We can see that the AUKEY CC-Y7 Car Charger negotiates with the LG G6 over USB Power Delivery by offering 15 watts (5 volts @ 3 amps), 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps), and 29 watts (14.5 volts @ 2 amps) power profiles. The LG G6 follows up to request 27 watts (9 volts @ 3 amps) which is accepted by the charger.

While the LG G6 is being charged on a well charged battery, the phone is observed to start pulling around 13.5 watts (9 volts @ 1.5 amps) but then suddenly stops charging for a while before resuming to charge at about 14.4 watts (9 volts @ 1.6 amps).

The AUKEY CC-Y7 Car Charger is able to charge the LG G6 although the initial USB Power Delivery negotiation is far from being clean.
