You just bought the LG 27 inch Class Ultra HD IPS 4K 27UD88-W Monitor as a perfect complement to your Apple MacBook (Early 2015).  However, sometimes you just need more screen space given you are working with a dozen different Apps.  If you don't feel like buying another monitor or simply don't have space, simply use the Apple iPad Pro docked on the Henge Docks Gravitas as a temporary portable display.  Since the iPad Pro sits vertically on the Gravitas dock, it's more natural to view Word documents, photos, or other portrait mode content on the 12.9" iPad Pro.

To learn how to use the Apple iPad Pro as a display for the Mac, click here to see how I set up the Duet App on the iPad and MacBook.

Once you have the Duet App installed and working, just connect the Apple iPad Pro to one of the downstream USB ports of the LG monitor using a USB Type-A to Lightning cable.  When you connect the MacBook to the LG monitor (click here for how to do this using a USB Type-C to Type-C cable), the MacBook will automatically see the iPad Pro already connected to the same monitor and you can then use Duet as a third display.

If you'd like, you can also add a USB drive like the LaCie Porsche Design USB-C Mobile Drive to the other downstream port of the LG monitor.  This LaCie drive has a USB Type-C port, so you need to connect it to the monitor using a USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable.  This allows another PC, tablet, or smartphone (click here to see how the LG G5 can connect to this monitor) to access this drive through the monitor.  One nice thing about this set up is that you can then easily take the LaCie Porsche Design USB-C Mobile Drive on the road with you in case you need additional USB Type-C external storage for the Apple MacBook (Early 2015).
