The LG G5 phone supports both Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 and USB Power Delivery over USB Type-C, so we’ll see if it is able to work with other USB Power Delivery chargers like the Xiaomi MiBook Charger.

Using a USB Type-C to Type-C cable, we connect the Xiaomi MiBook Charger to the LG G5 and observe their USB Power Delivery negotiations. The charger starts to communicate with the phone over a constant display of a single 10 watts (5 volts @ 2 amps) power profile. However no USB Power Delivery power contract could be seen to happen between both the charger and phone.

Looking at the power graph, the LG G5 on a fully depleted battery starts pulling around 4.5 watts (5 volts @ 0.9 amps). Charging then immediately goes down to 1 watts (5 volts @ 0.2 amps) and remains at the same level for about 40 seconds. After that frequent rise and fall in the current can be seen as charging continues.

The Xiaomi MiBook Charger unfortunately is not able to provide proper charging to the LG G5 using USB Power Delivery.
