Samsung has a large Asian fanbase particularly in India and China for their more affordable 4K Smart TV's among other products. After the highly popular Samsung K4300 Joy Smart TV and Samsung UHD 4K Flat Smart TV- JU6000, Samsung goes on to introduce the recent Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV.

The Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV comes at a budget and supports a range of features typically only available on more premium models including HDR 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology. The Samsung TV uses HDR Pro (which is basically HDR10) to enable wider color ranges which is also found on the higher end LG B6 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 65" Class.

For networking connectivity, the Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV uses 802.11(ac) Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE, and a Gigabit Ethernet port like the earlier Samsung K4300 Joy Smart TV. The Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV enables smart TV functionality through a newer Samsung's owned Smart TV user interface and Smart Remote Controller with voice control capability. These features promise a better user experience  when browsing the Web or playing games on the TV.

For 4K, the Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV supports three HDMI ports to connect to 4K and non-4K sources. If you want to play media from USB sources, there are also two USB 2.0 ports.

We purchased the Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV from E Store in Bangalore, India which is a popular retail spot for electronics and telecom dealers. The store had a decent display of Smart TV models from popular brands including LG, Sony, and Vizio other than Samsung.

Here Samsung proudly advertised its Tizen based operating system running on all Samsung Smart TV's since 2015. Unlike other TV's that have adopted Google's Android, Samsung has customized Tizen to give a unique Samsung experience.

After purchasing the 55-inch model of the Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV, we found that it was manufactured in a Samsung factory in Mexico (not India!).

We took out the Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV from its box along with a remote controller, batteries (for the remote controller), power cable, slim gender cable, and user documentation. These appear similar to the accessories that came with the Samsung K4300 Joy Smart TV but only without the VESA wall mount support.

As a side note, we captured the following images using the Nubia Z17 phone by ZTE.

The Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV measures at 48.9 x 31 x 12.2 inches and offers high end 4K features such as 4K Color Drive and HDR Pro for color enhancement, Essential Black Pro to display deep blacks, as well as Motion Rate 120 for smoother video or gameplay. The TV also supports Dolby Digital Plus audio, quad-core processor, web browser, screen mirroring, and smart apps like the Samsung K4300 Joy Smart TV. The quad-core processor works similarly as on many smartphones to enable multi-tasking and fast switching between watching video content and web browsing. You can also connect a mouse or keyboard to better control the user interface.

The Samsung smart remote controller has a very unique design that differentiates the Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV from other smart TV's. The Samsung remote only contains minimal buttons instead of the typical keypad on a standard smart TV remote. There is also a scroll wheel in the middle of the standard up/down/left/right circle button that you can use to navigate around the different menus. These are meant to provide an easier way to use the remote with the Samsung smart TV user interface. Luckily the buttons look simple enough to understand from their icons; otherwise just refer to the supplied user manuals. However for those who are familiar with the typical remote, it may take some time getting used to the new Samsung remote design.

The Samsung remote also has an integrated microphone that enables voice commands making it easy to simply 'tell' it what you want to select on the screen.

Similar to the Samsung K4300 Joy Smart TV, the rear panel of the Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV has all connectivity ports conveniently aligned on one side. The wired interface ports consist of HDMI 1.4 and 2.0 ports, USB 2.0 (480 Mb/s) ports, and an Ethernet port.

Like a lot of Samsung smart TV's, it doesn't take much to set up the Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV which is a fast and easy process.

With a decent price and top class features, the Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV is comparable to other more premium offerings from well known brands which is good value for money for a 4K Smart TV.

In the next coming reviews, we'll see how screen mirroring works for the Samsung MU6300 4K UHD TV with other devices and peripherals.
