QNAP's booth at CES 2017 was smack in the middle of the Smart Home area and highlighted Thunderbolt 3's usefulness in networked storage solutions in both home and office. QNAP had one of the most visible booth displays promoting Thunderbolt 3 technology.
QNAP has followed up with their Thunderbolt 2 based TVS-882ST2, TVS-871T and TX-800P NAS solutions with Thunderbolt 3 products like the TVS-882ST3 and TVS-1282T3. These Thunderbolt 3 NAS solutions are chock full of serious connectivity options.
The TVS-882ST3 can support 8 SATA Gen 3 (6 Gb/s) drives and not only has two Thunderbolt 3 ports and a HDMI 1.4 port, it also has one USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s) Type-C, one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A port, as well as two 10GBase-T and two 1000Base-T Ethernet ports.
The 12 Bay TVS-1282T3 goes one step further and supports two Thunderbolt 3 ports, two Thunderbolt 2 ports, and two 10GBase-T ports. It can also support a mix of different drives with two SATA Gen 3 m.2 ports, four 2.5" SATA Gen 3 ports, and eight 2.5"/3.5" SATA Gen 3 ports.
