The LG G5 apparently doesn't like the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W. Although both support USB Power Delivery, I got one of the worst user experiences possible when I connected the charger to this phone.
Once connected the LG G5 goes into some unknown state with the battery symbol showing a frozen circular waiting symbol. In fact, this weird frozen state remains even if you disconnect the Google Universal Type-C Charger 60W from the LG G5.
To recover from this problem, I tried to hold down the power button but that failed to get the LG G5 out of this state. Luckily the LG G5 has a removable battery through it's Friends modules that can be snapped into the bottom of the phone. Once I removed the battery and inserted the battery back into the LG G5, I was able to get the phone back into a normal operating condition.
Now if this had happened on a phone that didn't have a removable battery, you would have had to wait until the battery completely died in order to use the phone again- all because you tried to do something as basic as charging your phone.
We'll take a look later to see what might be causing this ultimate fail.
