An added benefit of a USB Type-C phone like the LG G6 is that it can support audio over the USB Type-C connector apart from the 3.5mm legacy audio port. This means you can use it with USB Type-C based audio headphones like the JBL Reflect Aware C which we tried and luckily could work fine with the phone.

After attaching the JBL Reflect Aware C to the LG G6, an Android System notification for 'Power supply' should appear if you swipe down from the top. If you open up that Power supply notification, you will see that the LG G6 phone automatically charges the JBL Reflect Aware C over USB. When audio is playing through the headphones, you can also swipe down to view and control playback for the audio. Unfortunately we were unable to select or adjust the audio output on the LG G6 which is also the same on many other USB Type-C phones that we tested with like the LG G5 as seen in this review.
