In addition to 3.5mm audio port, the LG G5 phone supports audio over the USB Type-C interface which should allow it to work with various USB Type-C audio headphones. Fortunately the LG G5 has no problem connecting to the USB Type-C based JBL Reflect Aware C that comes with additional noise cancellation capabilities.
Once the LG G5 is plugged in with the JBL Reflect Aware C, the phone will show that it is supplying power over USB which you can see by swiping down from the top. If you open up the Power supply notification, you can confirm that the phone is charging the headphones that is connected to its USB Type-C port.
After selecting a YouTube song, we were able to hear it well through the JBL Reflect Aware C. You can also quickly access playback for the song currently being played by swiping down from the top of the LG G5 phone. However there isn't a way to select audio output on the phone which also happens on most USB Type-C phones that we've tried like the HTC 10 and Moto Z Droid as seen in this review.
