The Roku 3 is a full HD streaming media player which supports many popular channels like YouTube, Netflix and range of on-demand music streaming services. Roku 3 can connect to fastest WI-FI or Ethernet as well as HDMI and USB so that you can stream virtually from anywhere and almost all types of sources. For added convenience, it comes with micro SD storage expansion slot so that you can scale up the storage capacity of the player.

The Roku 3 also comes with a simple but loaded remote control with which you can perform voice search, play games using its motion control capability.  On the bottom right side of it is 3.5 mm headphone jack for private listening with better mobility.

We zeroed in on Samsung as they sell more 4K UHD (Ultra High Definition) TVs than any other brand and has a broader 4K model lineup than ever before. We intentionally wanted to see how the Roku 3 (which supports only up to FHD 1080p) fares on a 4K TV.

Samsung’s JU6000 6 Series Flat UHD Smart LED TV generates stunningly sharp images on FHD content with amazing clarity thanks to Samsung’s innovative UHD upscaling technology.

Let us a have little more in depth look at how good Roku 3 works with the Samsung 4K TV.

As soon as we plug in the Roku 3 into the Samsung 4K TV's HDMI slot using a HDMI cable, the TV display starts showing the Roku dancing logo.

For playing videos using Roku 3, first we need to establish network connection between the TV and Roku 3. For establishing network connection first go to Settings -> Network -> Wireless (Wi-Fi), then make a suitable WI-FI network selection.

Select the name of the WI-FI network that you want to join, enter the password and connect .

Once the Roku 3  is connected, it takes you to the Channel store where you have variety of channel options to choose from.  Some channels require payment and availability can change depending on which country you are in.  On the remote, you also have dedicated buttons for quick access to popular channels like Amazon Instant Video, Hulu, and Netflix.

The combination of Roku 3 and Samsung’s JU6000 6 Series Flat UHD Smart LED TV work great together and even though the Roku 3 doesn't support 4K, it's content still looks great on the Samsung TV through upscaling technology.
