Have a Google Chromecast (2015), Apple iPhone 5S, and Samsung UHD 4K Flat Smart TV- JU6000 around and need to make them all work together?
First connect the Google Chromecast to one of the Samsung 4K TV's HDMI ports. The Chromecast supports HDMI 1.4 so even though the Samsung TV has HDMI 2.0 ports, video resolutions still won't be 4K.
You can plug a USB cable from the Samsung 4K TV to provide power to the Chromecast. There is no power button on the Chromecast that needs to be pressed.
Install the Chromecast application from iTunes Store on the iPhone 5S. Once installed, go ahead and open the Chromecast App and select Devices tab at the top.
Choose the Chromecast you are installing and select Set Up. Once installed Chromecast device is selected, Click on Next.
Once you see the code on bottom right of the Samsung 4K TV matches that shown on the App, select "I See The Code". You can then change your Chromecast name or just leave it as it is and select Set Name.
Once the setup is done, you can then choose the WI-FI network for your Chromecast to connect to.
The Chromecast App also acts as a gateway to different content and apps on your iPhone 5S that take advantage of Chromecast like YouTube. You can select the Get Apps tab to find more Apps that make use of Chromecast. YouTube is the most popular application given the ability to cast any video from your iPhone 5S to your TV.
The combination of the Apple iPhone 5S, Google Chromecast (2015), and Samsung UHD 4K Flat Smart TV- JU6000 works well together. Despite these technologies being complex and these product designs coming from three different development teams, it's a relief to see a great user experience come together given their popularity.
